The loss of one or more teeth can change our eating habits, speech, behaviour, appearance and thus negatively affect both our psychology and our self-confidence. In addition, the loss of a tooth is a reason that can cause damage to the bone surrounding that root, even if that lost tooth is restored with a joint prosthesis (bridge) and over time the loss of bone in that area will increase. Fortunately, in the last 30 years, dental implants (screw-in teeth) have been an excellent solution, as they replace not only the lost tooth but also the dental root. Dental implants, then, are a solid foundation for artificial teeth that not only look like our natural teeth but feel and function like them.
Am I eligible for implants?
The conditions for a successful implantation are not that difficult: good general health regardless of the age of the person, and a healthy lifestyle are naturally the best conditions for a good prognosis and long-term survival of dental implants. In cases where there is a problem e.g. blood pressure, blood sugar etc., cooperation with the physician is simply required in order for the patient to reach the implantation having adjusted anything abnormal in order to avoid complications.
